What is a fire door survey?

Fire doors are a critical part of a building’s built-in fire protection, preventing the spread of smoke and flames from one area to another. For the safety of your building, fire doors should be inspected every 6 months, and findings kept on record. If the doors are not able to achieve their intended fire resistance due to damage or wear and tear, building or home insurance may be deemed invalid in the event of a fire.

Fire door surveys are rather like an MOT for your fire doors, carried out by our third-party accredited door engineers. All components of the door are checked for faults and defects, and we compile a full and detailed report on all findings. We then supply you with the information you need to ensure your doors are compliant, or how they can be improved where necessary.

It is the duty of the responsible person to ensure that necessary standards are met and maintained.
